Last week, a mobile team of a psychologist, a pediatrician, and a social work specialist on a trip to Balaklia, Kharkiv region, provided support to 12 families with children
In particular:
— the pediatrician examined the children and offered recommendations to parents on nutrition, as well as prevention of various diseases
— the social work specialist conducted consultations (using the opportunities of case management) for families in need of psychological support. Currently, three families have such support
— the psychologist conducted group games with children and consultations on overcoming stress, acquainted parents with effective methods of psychological recovery.
‘Such practical assistance is very necessary for families with children who, during and after the de-occupation, live in conditions where shelling caused destruction around them. Visits of the mobile brigade to such hromadas are very important, since there are no specialists who could provide qualified assistance,’ said Kseniia Kovalenko, a social work specialist.
The project is implemented by the CO “Ukrainian Education Platform” within the framework of the SPILNO programme of the United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF Ukraine to support families with children affected by the war.The SPILNO programme brings UNICEF together with government, local authorities, the public sector, and business partners for every child in Ukraine.
